Clue 7 and the Reveal

Bonnie popped in on her blog to post not only a quick quilt cam but also a little intermediate clue. Getting us ready for the reveal that showed up on the final Friday of Clues.

The reveal was everything I had hoped for a wonderful quilt even though I changed all of my colors for my own purposes it still turned out great! My substitutes worked out just fine. Makes me almost wish I decided to do the whole quilt instead of just a portion. I didn't get a chance to do all the blocks I did as many as I could in a couple of days with all the regular activity around our house. When I took the picture it kind of turned out a little bit crooked and definitely I didn't hang it up correctly but, gives a good idea of what I've got in store.

As I was doing the pressing VOILA I remembered I had this little tiny iron that I purchased for fusible stained glass work. It is great for opening up those seams without disturbing the rest of the block and the way those seems need to go.

Pixel Play Challenge Project Quilting

It's time once again 4 this week's project quilting. Sounded simple enough to me, pixels. Of course I knew what they were and so used my friend the internet to find an image that I could turn into a quick and easy quilt project. An image that came up was a darling little dolphin that immediately reminded me of my sweet granddaughter Caroline who has her stuffed dolphin, Dolphy. Dolphy is Pink and she really loves to carry him around with her. Not having much choice of my pink Fabrics I was lucky to get the perfect fabric for this project that allowed me to show a bit of dimension in the piecing just using squares. Okay, I can do this! But, it took me much longer than I ever figured it would. Of course then I was unlucky enough to end up with a problem with my back, probably the ruptured disc that I fight with on an ongoing basis. Project Quilting Challenge#6 Chocolate

Yep, that's correct Challenge number 6 for project quilting is chocolate! Couldn't have picked a more favorite item for me to try to recreate. Looks like there may be more than one of us who have fond remembrances of chocolate Easter bunnies especially at this time of the year when Easter is on many people's mind. Saw an inspiration on Pinterest of a darling pillow cover made with strips and an applique chocolate bunny. Luckily I had the perfect chocolate type fabric just waiting for me. Of course I gave him a candy pink eye and instead of the normal pink or blue bow I used yellow because I thought it looked better with all the fabrics. It was fun creating this cute bunny and he will look very nice until Easter arrives. Project Quilting challenge 10.3

This new Project Quilting Challenge number three is a fun one "Bigger than a Breadbox"... It can be any color any project any theme as long as it measures at least 16 by 8 in. It's nice to have the freedom to create something simple and something that in this case will be very useful. Every year my quilt group in American Fork, Utah makes placemats and mug rugs for Meals on Wheels to be delivered to their patrons sometime in December. So for me this cute Santa and remnants from my stash came together for this Project Quilting challenge Bigger than a Breadbox. Just some simple quilting and someone will be happy to receive it come the Christmas season.
