Alas, I miss cut which slowed me down I'm still not exactly sure what happened however I've tried to make it work and I think it will. I used two rulers that were already in my supplies those offered by Kaye England. The only unfortunate thing was that I picked up the wrong ruler to cut the large triangles, which ended up leaving bias on the outside  of the triangles that I cut from the strips . Well dang , a whole pile ended up being too small. But that's okay I just recut and now I have to finish up this clue. Those on the cutting table upside down are the ones I need to trim up to try and see if I can salvage them.
Hey you can always find an open door when that window gets closed :-)
Beautiful Christmas Eve day here in Utah but some snow is on its way maybe later this evening or tomorrow. That's okay we're not going anywhere LOL. So to show my blues and greens from my Hawaii trip more pictures.

Project Quilting Challenge 1 Hope

Trying to come up with a translation of Hope to a quilting project was my challenge this week. Project quilting is a fun idea by persimmon dreams quilt ing to try and get you to think beyond what you would normally do in a quilting project. I'm not a art quilter, I'm  I'm definitely a traditional quilt maker but I wanted to try and participate the best way I could. So hope for me is something that I always want to have in my heart and in my life but I also understand that sometimes the things we hope for don't always come to pass. I chose to create a representation of a cancer ribbon combining the blue of all cancers the blue of colon cancer and the lavender or purple of all other cancers. My mother recently dealt with cancer of her colon but we were very blessed that it was found in a place that was easy to treat and even without taking chemotherapy it was still done with surgery and very successfully. I'm hoping that I will still have my mother around for many y

Project Quilting Challenge#6 Chocolate

Yep, that's correct Challenge number 6 for project quilting is chocolate! Couldn't have picked a more favorite item for me to try to recreate. Looks like there may be more than one of us who have fond remembrances of chocolate Easter bunnies especially at this time of the year when Easter is on many people's mind. Saw an inspiration on Pinterest of a darling pillow cover made with strips and an applique chocolate bunny. Luckily I had the perfect chocolate type fabric just waiting for me. Of course I gave him a candy pink eye and instead of the normal pink or blue bow I used yellow because I thought it looked better with all the fabrics. It was fun creating this cute bunny and he will look very nice until Easter arrives. And the great thing is he doesn't have any carbs and he won't melt :-) Check out these other chocolate inspired Creations click here Alert alert! I just realized I forgot his tail I will try and update later :-)

Good Fortune Clue number 3

Oh dear it's the dreaded half chevrons! Okay, could be worse could be those long-legged pointed triangles. These were not actually not too bad. More information on Bonnie Hunter' s blog https://quiltville.blogspot.com/2018/12/mystery-monday-link-up-part-3.html I decided to use my Folded Corners ruler and it pretty much went exactly as it was supposed to. You probably can't tell from the pictures but I am scaling down the size of a quilt unless it's something that I really really really love. Since I have been substituting my color scheme this clue, which in Bonnie's quilt was Greens (which I will be using later) I chose to use yellow to represent the beautiful sunshine and some of the lovely hibiscus flowers. Amazing though what I thought would be plenty of contrast because my background is supposed to represent the Sandy Beach I'm not so sure I got enough contrast with some of my yellows. And along with that my yellows turned out to be in short supply so
