Good Fortune Clue 2

Oh, goody! Half Square triangles were the next clue,number two.
Luckily I know how to make them using paper as my guidelines. Just cut your fabric pieces to size, sew on the dotted lines, cut on the solid lines. Of course you have to remove the paper and press but you have to press no matter which method you end up using don't you?
These turned out perfectly using my various tints, tones and shades of blue. aqua and teal. I saw so many incredibly beautiful Blues in the ocean when we were in Hawaii. Taking pictures doesn't always give you true colors but I figured there were so many different blues I wasn't going to miss any of them!

Project Quilting Challenge 1 Hope

Trying to come up with a translation of Hope to a quilting project was my challenge this week. Project quilting is a fun idea by persimmon dreams quilt ing to try and get you to think beyond what you would normally do in a quilting project. I'm not a art quilter, I'm I'm definitely a traditional quilt maker but I wanted to try and participate the best way I could. So hope for me is something that I always want to have in my heart and in my life but I also understand that sometimes the things we hope for don't always come to pass. I chose to create a representation of a cancer ribbon combining the blue of all cancers the blue of colon cancer and the lavender or purple of all other cancers. My mother recently dealt with cancer of her colon but we were very blessed that it was found in a place that was easy to treat and even without taking chemotherapy it was still done with surgery and very successfully. Project Quilting Challenge#6 Chocolate

Yep, that's correct Challenge number 6 for project quilting is chocolate! Couldn't have picked a more favorite item for me to try to recreate. Looks like there may be more than one of us who have fond remembrances of chocolate Easter bunnies especially at this time of the year when Easter is on many people's mind. Saw an inspiration on Pinterest of a darling pillow cover made with strips and an applique chocolate bunny. Luckily I had the perfect chocolate type fabric just waiting for me. Of course I gave him a candy pink eye and instead of the normal pink or blue bow I used yellow because I thought it looked better with all the fabrics. It was fun creating this cute bunny and he will look very nice until Easter arrives. And the great thing is he doesn't have any carbs and he won't melt :-) Check out these other chocolate inspired Creations click here Alert alert! Project Quilting challenge 10.3

This new Project Quilting Challenge number three is a fun one "Bigger than a Breadbox"... It can be any color any project any theme as long as it measures at least 16 by 8 in. It's nice to have the freedom to create something simple and something that in this case will be very useful. Every year my quilt group in American Fork, Utah makes placemats and mug rugs for Meals on Wheels to be delivered to their patrons sometime in December. So for me this cute Santa and remnants from my stash came together for this Project Quilting challenge Bigger than a Breadbox. Just some simple quilting and someone will be happy to receive it come the Christmas season.
